On 12-19 November the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia hosted the 21st extraordinary meeting of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna, which set tuna fishing quotas for 2019.
Expopesca in Ecuador is a conventional trade fair with stands. It is held every two years, usually in Manta. The 8th edition was held on 6-8 June. It was a prime meeting point for representatives of the governments of 18 countries, with over 120 exhibitors and purchasers from numerous countries.
The journal Infofish organises a conference on tuna every two years in Bangkok, Thailand. This is probably the world·s leading event in the tuna industry, especially in terms of visitor numbers. Bangkok is usually the benchmark location for the setting of tuna prices. Thailand has no tuna fleet of its own but processes more tuna than any other country.
Marco was a sponsor of the second edition of the Americas Tuna Conference, which brought together the American tuna industry at the Sheraton Grand Panama hotel in in Panama City on 22-23 February.
On 12 December TH Company was awarded the Advanced Management Diploma by members of the Basque Government and Euskalit at a gala organised at the Kursaal conference centre.
