MARCO supplies a new purse seine winch to Grupo NIRSA

MARCO has supplied a new purse seine winch to the Ecuadorian main tuna vessel owner Grupo NIRSA. MARCO will replace Maria Eulogia vessel´s existing purse winch by a WS-487 winch model to improve vessel´s performance. The Maria Eulogia, previous named as Andrea C, was built in 1981 becoming JM Martinac shipyard 225 construction. The purse seiner is 68 meters long with a 12.8 meters beam and a fish hold volume of 1200 m².

The WS-487 purse winch model, driven by two-speed radial piston 5 motors where towline is independently actuated, providing a higher versatility in manoeuvres and help to improve vessel´s tuna catches.

NIRSA is Ecuador's largest tuna ship owner and operates thirteen tuna vessels, six sardine vessels and eight smaller boats fleet, as well as a tuna processing plant. NIRSA owns Alimentos Real, a well-known brand of frozen food, tinned products, beverages and other products which has graced Ecuadorian tables and international markets for over 60 years.

This is the 4^th contract awarded by NIRSA to MARCO in the past 2 years, which highlights the Ecuadorian ship owner´s trust on MARCO technology as well as reinforces company´s market leadership in Latam, region where over the past years TH COMPANY has inaugurated different offices in Mexico, Ecuador and Peru to provide a closer and a better service to its customers.
