Description

The project involves the design, manufacture and installation of a new deck crane which is certified by ATEX certified and can thus operate in explosive atmospheres. The crane has been installed on the supply vessel Green Cádiz, built in 2017 by Astilleros Murueta for Bilbao based shipowner Green Bay Sur to work as a service vessel in the port of Algeciras.

The Marco electro-hydraulic deck crane has a reach of 16 metres and a load capacity of 3.2 tonnes. It is to be used to position and secure the hoses that collect slops, and for ancillary loading and unloading work on the vessel. It will be serving oil tankers among other vessels and will therefore have to operate with inflammable or explosive waste, so ATEX Zone 1 certification was essential.

To facilitate operations, the crane can rotate continuously through 360º in either direction, and can be controlled remotely or at the control platform. This crane is also certified by Bureau Veritas.
