MARCO strengthens its leadership in Africa with new contracts to equip fishing fleets

MARCO’s technology continues to consolidate its position across the African continent. The company has been awarded two major contracts that reinforce its role as a global benchmark in equipment for the fishing and shipbuilding industries.

As part of the first contract, MARCO will supply 12 new deck equipment units, including its exclusive anchor windlass and several side thrusters, for a total of eight fishing vessels under construction that will operate in North Africa. These systems will enhance safety and improve vessel maneuverability.

In addition, the company has secured another contract to equip tuna vessels operating off the West African coast with three MARCO deck cranes. The order includes two HDC11-2500AA cranes and one HDC8-2500AA crane, both with a lifting capacity of up to 2,500 kg. The main difference lies in their reach: 10 meters for the HDC11 and 8 meters for the HDC8. All units feature an articulated boom and an integrated hydraulic power pack, providing greater operational flexibility and optimizing available deck space.

MARCO cranes are specifically designed for demanding marine environments and are renowned for their reliability, robustness, and safety. Their protection systems include negative disc brakes and dynamic load control valves, ensuring safe operations even under extreme conditions.
