MARCO will supply a new PB-81 Puretic Power Block to Saupiquet in France

MARCO will supply a new Power Block PB-81 to Saupiquet ship owner, part of Bolton Group. The equipment will serve as spare equipment for the company´s three american tuna vessels which operate in the Atlantic Ocean. This will allow Saupiquet to improve preventive maintenance scheduling and avoid any stop fishing caused by an unexpected equipment failure.

The PB-81 Power Block is commonly known as Mega Block due its large dimensions, a sheave diameter of 81”, and higher pull capacity. The PB-81 it´s one of MARCO´s Puretic Power Blocks biggest models within a wide variety of models with a sheave diameter from 19” to 90”.

The Power Block will be used as spare equipment for the following tuna vessels: Vía Avenir, Vía Mistral y Vía Euros, which were the last three tuna vessels built in Campbell shipyard. With a 13.68 meters beam and a vessel length of 78.3 meters, each vessel´s fish hold capacity is bigger than 1600 m3.

The MARCO Puretic Power Block revolutionized purse seine fishing and have become an industry´s standard with over 20,000 units in operation in purse seiners across the world. The company has supplied a wide variety of Power Blocks to different ship owners worldwide during the past months.
