Pescapeces S.A., part of Grupo Geopoxi, has selected MARCO to replace Pacific Tuna vessel´s existing purse winch by a WS-484 winch model to improve vessel´s performance. This is the 2nd contract awarded by Grupo Geopaxi to MARCO in less than one year, which highlights the Ecuadorian ship owner´s trust on MARCO technology.
Along with the WS-486 model, the WS-484 purse seine winch model has become an industry´s standard for 900 – 1200 Tn tuna vessels. This winch model is driven by four Vickers motors and high hydraulic input power which provides a higher versatility in manoeuvres and helps to improve vessel´s tuna catches.
The equipment will be installed in the Pacific Tuna vessel, previous named as Cabo Marzo, was built in 1982 in the Bender shipyards in United States. The vessel is a 68.8 meters long tune vessel with a 12.5 meters beam and a fish hold volume bigger than 1200 m2.
This contract highlights MARCO´s technology market leadership in Latin America, region where over the last years TH COMPANY has inaugurated different offices in Mexico, Ecuador and Peru to provide a closer and a better service to its customers.
