MARCO will supply a new cargo winch W-1830 to Africa Star Fisheries, one of the most important shipowners in Ghana. The deck equipment will replace existing cargo winch at the Africa Star tuna vessel, previously named as Cap. MARCO´s W-1830 winch stands out for being one of the most compact models of its broad range of auxiliary winches, and will allow to improve operator´s safety as well as loading maneuvers efficiency.
Africa Star Fisheries operates a 7 tuna vessels fleet and is considered one of the largest fishing owners in the region. Company´s purse-seine vessel, where MARCO´s auxiliary winch will be installed, was manufactured in 1981 at the Ateliers et Chantiers de la Manche shipyard, which is located in Dieppe (France). With a 13 meters beam and a vessel length of 70.50 meters, vessel´s fish hold capacity is bigger than 1000 m3.
