MARCO will supply two new deck cranes to Grupo Iberopesca, one of Ecuador´s leading tuna vessel owners. The company has already supplied different deck cranes for Iberopesca´s 3 different tuna vessels: Adriana, Rocío and Doña Roge vessels. Their installation has improved ship´s deck cargo handling capacity, as well as gain operational efficiency.
The cranes acquired by Grupo Iberopesca are two MARCO HDC10-2500TA deck cranes with a load capacity of up to 2,500 tons at 10 meters. Both cranes are telescopic and have their own hydraulic group, thus increasing operational flexibility and reducing the space to be occupied on deck. MARCO deck cranes are specifically designed to operate in marine environments and seek to maximize operator safety thanks to the incorporation of different safety devices such as automatic fail-safe spring set hydraulic release disc brakes and counterbalance check valves.
Grupo Iberopesca owns a large fleet of tuna vessels, as well as a tuna processing plant and a fishmeal production plant in Manta (Ecuador). The company is considered one of the most important shipowners and marketers of tuna in the country.
This contract highlights MARCO´s technology market leadership in Latin America, region where over the past years TH COMPANY has inaugurated different offices in Mexico, Ecuador and Peru to provide a closer and a better service to its customers.
MARCO will supply an additional winch to the Gijon tuna vessel. The purse seiner was fully equipped with MARCO deck machinery, including MARCO´s WS-587 purse seine winch and PB-56 Power Block.
