Innovation & World Class Global Service by MARCO in 2021

At MARCO our constant efforts to provide our customers with innovation and top-quality service have been our guiding light for over 60 years. And 2021 was a case in point: we expanded our office network, continued to develop new equipment and our technical assistance network served our customers wherever they needed it.

While 2020 was marked by the consolidation of our second office in Spain, opened in Vigo in late 2019, in 2021 we strove to reinforce our presence in Ecuador with the opening of a new office in Guayaquil which will become company's logistics centre for hydraulic and pneumatic materials in Ecuador. The new office features a 200 m2 workshop and a large warehouse for original spare parts, enabling us to offer our customers repair and maintenance services for equipment and vessels and a wide range of OEM spares quickly and efficiently.

A major technology landmark was the presentation of our new MARCO W-1945KBT main boom topping winch. It is the first model on the market to incorporate disc brakes acting directly on the drum. This increases safety on board and efficiency in main boom lifting and lowering manoeuvre on purse seiners. The new winch model is already working on the following tuna vessels: Galerna Lau, owned by Albacora, Monteraiola, owned by Calvo, Reina de la Paz, owned by Grupo Jadran, and Playa de Anzoras, owned by Pevasa. Nor must we forget the tuna boats that we have fitted out with our deck equipment and hydraulic system: the Monteraiola, owned by Grupo Calvo, and the Juan Pablo II, owned by Grupo Jadrán.

We must also highlight the great work done by our specialist technicians’ team, whose members have travelled the world providing assistance service to our customers wherever necessary

Many shipowners took the opportunity to overhaul their vessels at various points around the world in 2021, and wherever they did our technicians were there to help them. From maintenance and repairs works in Ivory Coast, Senegal and Mauritius to upgrade works in Mexico and Ecuador, not forgetting repair and installation works carried out in the UAE and of course in Spain. For many long months our specialist technicians provided assistance for vessels belonging to many of our different customers, including Albacora, Calvo, Echebastar, Inpesca, Jadrán, Maz Sardina, Atunsa, Panofi, Saupiquet and Ugavi among others, offering high-quality, expert service..

This is just part of the work done over the course of the year, but it exemplifies the values that inspire all MARCO personnel day by day, and which we will continue to guide us in 2022.
